- Avoid Pet’s Name: The RSPCA advises against putting your dog’s name on the tag to prevent thieves from using it to gain the dog’s trust.
- Legal Consequences: Dogs in public without proper ID can be considered strays, and owners can be fined.
- It is not advisable to put your full, specific home address on the tag for security reasons, though the law technically requires it. A house number and postcode are generally sufficient
